History

Valley Regional Fire Rescue, founded on July 1, 2005, represents a powerful collaboration aimed at greatly enhancing the safety and protection of the residents in the areas it serves. This union resulted from the merger of Butler Twp. Fire Co. and Conyngham Fire Co., combining their strengths and resources to better serve the community.

With a dedicated team of over 50 active members, ranging from junior firefighters to senior and life members, Valley Regional Fire Rescue is well-equipped to handle a wide range of emergency situations. Operating from two strategically located stations, Fire East in Butler Twp. and Fire West in Conyngham Borough, the department boasts an impressive fleet of assets, including 3 Engines, 2 Rescues, 1 Tanker, 4 Ambulances, 1 Brush Vehicle, and a Rescue Boat.

One of the standout features of Valley Regional Fire Rescue is the high level of training and expertise among its members. The majority of the team is certified to the state level, and many have received training at the national level. This extensive training equips the department for a diverse array of emergency response scenarios, including Fire Suppression, Truck work, Vehicle Rescue, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, Rope Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Dive Rescue, and both Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) emergencies.

Furthermore, the department's medic unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, staffed by a Paramedic/Firefighter and an EMT/Firefighter. Medic 26 is also the primary ALS response unit for a wide geographical area, covering Butler Township, Conyngham Borough, Sugarloaf Township, Black Creek Township, East Side Borough, White Haven Borough, and Dennison Township.

Valley Regional Fire Rescue stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration and preparedness, providing essential services to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents across a broad spectrum of emergency situations.
